A member of the House of Representatives suspended, Abdulmumin Jibrin, had revealed what his colleagues got as running cost.
The report says the amount which is over 40 percent of the National Assembly’s N115 billion annual budget, covers for the legislators’ running cost, including expenditures such as basic salary, vehicle maintenance, entertainment, utility, domestic staff, constituency, newspapers, recess allowance, wardrobe, personal assistant and housing.
Quoting from a document, the report further disclose
that each senator gets 109 gets N12 million monthly, each of the members of the
House of Representatives gets N7 million.
This amounts to a monthly total of
N3.8 billion monthly as the document revealed that while the House gets N47.2
billion, the Senate gets N30.2 billion and the National Assembly bureaucracy
N11.6 billion.
