A Muslim 40-years of age cleric, Saheed Gbadamosi, was on Tuesday arraigned in an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court for threatening to bathe a pastor with acid and destroy his church properties.
The suspect,that resides at Aboru area of Iyana-Ipaja, is currently being tried for breach of peace and order, assault and threat to human life.
The prosecutor, Insp. George Nwosu, said that the accused committed the crime on 4th of September at his home.
He explained to the court that the accused conspired with many others still at large and visited the defendant’s church fully armed with dangerous weapons as they beat up the pastor known as Emmanuel Ugbo, ravaging the church property and threatening to bathe him with acid. His words“The accused and his accomplices beat up the complainant and damaged four chairs each valued at N4,000 and mixer valued at N35,000 being church property.
“The accused and his accomplice also threatened to bathe him with acid if he dare refused to stop converting his ‘people’ to his church.
